The Russian/Muslim Alliance and the last days invasion of Israel
Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him. (Ezekiel 38)
The alliance is complete
In the first half of the Tribulation Period, an alliance led by Russia will make war against Israel. Russia, Turkey, Iran, Libya and Biblical Ethiopia (modern-day Sudan) will launch a massive military offensive against God's chosen people.
After the flood
How do we know who is involved since the Bible uses ancient names? Here is a graphic which confirms that Meshech and Tubal is Russia, Togarmah is Turkey, Persia is Iran, Cush is Sudan and Put is Libya. Notice what these nations have in common - they all hate Israel.
Who comes to Israel's aid?
Sheba and Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish and the young lions thereof lodge a weak diplomatic protest against the invasion. Who are they? Sheba and Dedan are located in modern-day Saudi Arabia. Tarshish is the United Kingdom and the lions of Tarshish are the Commonwealth countries - the USA, Canada and Australia. These nations have no desire to stand against the alliance.
Will Israel be obliterated?
It would be tempting to believe that there is no way tiny Israel could stand against the massive military might of the Russian/Muslim alliance. But God steps in and He will use four means to drive back the invaders: a global earthquake; hailstones, fire and brimstone; storms and torrential rain; pestilence.
What happens after the battle?
Because the Lord fought for Israel in the days of the invasion, Israel will repent and accept Jesus Christ as Messiah. But they remain in danger - the rest of the Tribulation Period is to unfold. God has defeated numerous enemies for them, but others are yet to arise.
